Competitive and security advantages are always temporal, and a continuous and rapid adaptation is required. Information needs are changing too. As a consequence of the situation variations or a new programme, such as a new fact or one that already exists, it is convenient to consider it from a different point of view.

Evaluative investigation or evaluation of programmes facilitates either feedback and continuous improvement of information quality in ongoing strategic intelligence activities, and the valuation of the impact and redefinition of the new projects.

In order to improve the quality of the sequence of competitive intelligence and security intelligence of the informative cycle, a evaluative investigation is executed as a result of the need to check, confirm, refuse and newly value each conclusion achieved when a new information is received.

For a better management of the new programmes, the ex-ante and ex-post (before and after) evaluation search indicates the degree of efficiency or deficiency and points the way towards reformulation and valuation of the success achieved through the efforts made. Ex-ante (alternatives consideration) is raised to fulfil a project. Ex-post (evaluation as a success controller) is raised as an analysis of the sources of the error.
